World Backup Day – March 31st

That’s right!  Everything has a day and World Backup Day is coming Saturday, March 31st.  As the organizers state on their website, “It’s not only a day for backing up your personal data, but it’s also a day to talk about the enormous task of preserving our increasingly digital heritage and cultural works for future generations.”

  • Be sure to spread the word and share the news with friends and family
  • Encourage everyone to backup their computers, tablets, phones, and data
  • Data loss due to failure, accidents, and theft is more common than most think
  • Stolen phones, virus infection, and catastrophic loss is a realistic thing

  • This should be popular with those that do not enjoy negotiating and bargaining
  • Online shopping offers those in remote and rural regions an economical buying option
  • Ford may want to consider adding a sales-bot function to enhance the experience

Apple’s Families Page

After some significant negative coverage over the past few years regarding the company’s need to provide better control over devices for children, Apple launched their ‘Families’ page.  The page offers resources to parents and guardians related to privacy, content filtering, location services, and managing in-app purchases.

  • Tools to limit use and duration of use are growing in popularity and demand
  • Website restrictions can be controlled, monitored, limited, and filtered
  • iCloud accounts manage and provide a safe place for photos, music, and movies
  • It’s a step in the right direction to provide direction in a complicated world of technology
